The Black Wizards are entering a new era. The Portuguese fuzzy-psych trio will release a new full-length album in 2026 via UK label Hassle Records, signaling a bold step forward in sound.

Recorded by Cooper Crain (Cave, Bitchin Bajas) — whose production work spans artists such as Stereolab, Ty Segall and Natural Child — and mastered by Mikey Young, one of the most sought-after engineers in alternative music, the upcoming LP captures a band in full
transformation.

The album marks a clear shift toward a rawer, more garage-driven sound, built around direct arrangements, live energy and a stronger sense of urgency.
While still grounded in psychedelia, the new material strips things back, focusing on
immediacy and impact. The songwriting leans into more direct and interventionist lyrics, reflecting a band more engaged with the present and less interested in abstraction.
